We have an outstanding team, but to further accelerate growth, we need more talented colleagues. We are currently seeking a Legal Counsel to our Fund Company, Lysa Fonder.

The opportunity

As Legal Counsel at Lysa’s fund company, you will work with all legal matters within the fund company. Given our small company size, your role will encompass a variety of legal areas with a strong focus on regulatory and fund-related issues.

You will work closely with the CEO, investment managers, and developers in the fund company. You will ensure that regulatory aspects are integral to product development and ongoing business operations, continually enhancing our group’s strong culture of regulatory compliance. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the compliance, and risk functions.

You will be a part of our strong legal team within the Lysa group, which includes five lawyers across Fund, Securities Operations and Life Insurance. You will report to Lysa’s General Counsel.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new fund rules and other legal frameworks when launching new funds and related products.

• Collaborate closely with lawyers in Lysa’s insurance and securities companies on changes in investment offerings and the implementation of new regulations affecting the entire Lysa group.

• Prepare board materials.

• Together with the fund team, risk, and compliance functions ensure robust risk management.

• Engage in dialogue and revisions with compliance, risk, and internal audit functions.

• Engage in dialogue and collaboration with depositary, custodian and other partners.

• Oversee internal governance documents.

• Monitor and implement new regulations related to fund operations.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, structured and effective in execution.

• Passionate about your job with extensive experience in fund law.

• Ideally, at least a few years of experience in regulatory fund-related matters, possibly as a fund lawyer, compliance officer at a fund company, or at the SFSA, or focusing on fund-related matters at a well-renowned law firm.

• Experience in another regulated industry, FinTech, or a genuine interest in personal finance and savings is a plus.

• Experience within sustainability/ESG is a plus.

• Strong ambition, curiosity, and willingness to learn are valued higher than many years of experience.

• Enthusiastic about actively participating in the operational aspects of the business.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex legal issues simply.

• Unpretentious, ambitious, and responsible team player.

Department & location

This role is part of our Legal team and will work in Lysa’s fund company, developing our investment offering alongside the rest of the Invest team. The position is based in Stockholm or Karlskrona, reporting to the General Counsel.
